During the Renaissance, when the Medici and their crowd were decorating their palazzos and villas, a spectacular damask like Olimpia would have been woven in silk or wool and used everywhere in a room; upholstered onto all the walls, covering all the furniture and made into lavish window treatments. It even would have been gathered into a skinny sleeve to cover the chain from which the chandelier hung. Olimpia retains the grand scale and classic arabesque design of her forebearers and will still look splendid upholstered onto all the walls and furniture of your Venetian palazzo, but it will also shine on the contemporary seating in the penthouse of your New York pied-à-terre, or as sumptuous curtains in the sitting room of your Norfolk country house.

To bring the design into the 21st century, it is woven of fresh 100% linen in eleven au courant colors. Like many of the fabrics in the PG Tessuti Collection, Olimpia bears the impeccable pedigree of being produced in the Alois mill that has been in operation by the same family since 1885.
